The bright, cheerful, and somewhat clumsy Nitroplus mascot character, "Super Sonico," has been transformed into an elegant and enchanting Japanese doll figurine. Adorned with a variety of luxurious decorations, including combs and hairpins, her headpiece is a work of art. Her kimono features a rich red base with various floral patterns and gold threads woven in.
In her hands, she holds a shamisen and a bachi, perfectly matching her role as a musician. This figurine is the epitome of excellence, reflecting her unique persona.
Both figurines and traditional Japanese dolls emphasize the importance of facial expressions. We have meticulously crafted a charming and beautiful expression, with a slight tilt of the head and a gentle smile. Her tied-up hair and the glimpse of her bare feet exude elegance, resulting in a splendid finish.
Staying true to the character's image, we have designed a lavish and voluminous costume with a loose silhouette. The attire, reminiscent of woodblock prints, features an obi tied in the front and opulent gold brocade fabric. The added fuki, or skirt, further enhances its extravagance.
Adding a touch of tradition to complement the character's image, we have incorporated Kyoto's traditional techniques, such as Kyo-yuzen dyeing and gold brocade (kinran). Gold brocade involves weaving gold and silver threads as well as gold and silver leaf into the fabric, creating a high-density, multi-layered textile with intricate patterns. For this figurine, we selected luminous and textured gold brocade produced by Kyoto's renowned fabric merchant, "Ban-do Shoten."
